I am not even going to try to say that there’s no theme in my June favs, because there is one, and that is skin care.
This is the first month of summer, so your legs are showing more, and not just your legs, but basically everything. Maybe not if you live somewhere where it’s cold as heck in June, but you get my point.
Let’s get into it!
1. Clean & Clear – Morning Energy
Although this is a daily facial scrub, I don’t use it everyday, and I use it elsewhere too, not just my face.
I think it’s really important to have a nice ‘base’ when you start tanning, because if you start sunbathing and your face is full of dead skin (yuck) your tan won’t last at all, or more likely, it’s going to be patchy. So I use this once or twice a week to make sure that my face is all fresh. It makes your skin feel really soft and smooth, but if you have sensitive skin like me, then make sure to moisturize after you use it, because sometimes it can be a bit drying too.
2. Bourjois Volume Glamour Mascara
I’ve been using this mascara for a while now, but only in this month did I realize how much I love it. It makes your lashes look divine and long, it smells nice, and it doesn’t smudge at all. The packaging is nice too, I like that it’s simple with a bit of rose gold. Let’s just say that I can get very hot in thirty-something celsius degrees and I don’t like to wear a lot of make up, especially if I’m outside a lot, so what’s especially great about this mascara is that it’s enough for those days, and what I mean by that, is that it makes your eyes pop, so they are in the spotlight, maybe a bit of lip balm or a nice lipstick, and you’re ready for the day.
3. Nivea Sun Protect & Refresh
Protection is important in everything, so it’s important in tanning too. Now I’m going to be totally honest with you. I’m paler than a polar bear. And not in aesthetics. That’s the truth. So sometimes I do that not good thing that I just lay out to sunbathe without any sun cream, in the hope to get tanner a bit faster. That’s a bad thing. Don’t do it. But when I decide to use the brain I have (or least I hope that I have one) I put on this. It says on the packaging that it’s invisible and non-greasy, which, so far, seems to be true. Props for protection!
4. Vintage Shorts
At the end of last summer I found them, and oh my, thank God I found them. I’ve been living in them since the weather was good enough to wear them! They have all these patterns all around them, and they’re high waisted and they are soft…. Uhh. Also, they make your butt look slightly bigger because they have horizontal sectioning, but that’s a thing I can live with.
5. Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner
I’m going to repeat myself, because with summer all the skirts and shorts and dresses get out of the bottom of the closet, your legs are showing a lot more, and in my opinion it’s a great feeling to have soft legs so they look, and feel, divine. And onto tanning – it’s a whole lot easier to keep a tan nice and not patchy when your skin is hydrated. And drink a lot of water!
6. ANNY 303 Spicy Thing nail polish
I had a week full of sorting out things and tidying and all that boring but good stuff, and I found my old favourite nail polish. I got so happy, I immediately painted my nails, and I’ve been LIVING since I have this on. Every time I look at my hands, I just get so happy because they are sooo pretty. It’s a nice pinky shade which is a good substitution for nude nail polishes, because all the nudes I’ve tried so far made my hands look dead (yay for paleness). In the picture the ends are a bit chipped, but keeping in mind that they’ve been on for five days without a top coat, they have stayed on pretty amazingly.
7. Mad Men
Oh. My. God.
I’ve decided to start watching the whole show from the beginning again, and it was such a good idea. I almost forgot how much I loved the first season! So I am officially in love again.
If you don’t know what Mad Men is, then let me educate you. It’s a show about ad men in the 60’s and it is my love. Here’s the IMDb link: Mad Men
I recommend watching it to everyone if you’re into these kind of shows.
What were you favourites this month?
Also, you can recommend me tv shows to watch on Twitter and I can pretend that I have time and get obsessed with another series!
And after years of debating, I finally decided to join Instagram, so you can follow me on there too!
Lots of love,
