I just wanted to type up this post real quick and talk to you a bit about the holiday season, Christmas in particular.
This time of the year can be incredibly challenging – let it be emotionally, mentally or physically.
And I just want you to know, it’s okay.
It’s okay, if you didn’t get to buy all the presents you wanted for the ones you love, the important thing is that they know you love them.
It’s okay, if you don’t feel incredibly Christmassy and you don’t want to wear reindeer antler headpieces and Christmas jumpers. Just don’t put down others for doing so.
It’s okay, if you’d spend Christmas with your family and not your friends, and it’s okay the other way around too. It’s also okay, if you want to spend the whole thing alone.
Don’t feel bad if you’d rather rip out your own eyes and make yourself go deaf, than to have to sit down to the table with your utterly disgusting-racist-homophobic uncle.
Because it’s supposed to be celebration of family and love, it doesn’t mean that you have to bend backwards for your family to be happy.
Christmas time is also difficult to maintain your mental health, so anytime you feel like it’s getting too much, don’t be afraid to just stand up and walk away.
If you need help, don’t be afraid to call anyone you feel comfortable talking to – you will not ruin their celebration.
Because over all, your happiness and health is what’s the most important.
Remember that and try to enjoy what you can.
Lots and lots of love,
