This might be a slightly unpopular opinion, but I don’t think of today as something important, I could say that I find the whole thing pointless.
Because if you love someone, you love them on all the other days too. (You have probably heard this before, maybe a 100 times on social media, but it’s true.)
But really, if I love someone, I will surprise them with a dinner anytime, if I see something that reminds me of them I’ll buy it and give it to them, doesn’t matter the date. Maybe I’m the strange one, but I don’t feel like my love grows on the 14th of February.
I don’t want this whole post to be just a rant, so I’m gonna talk about something good that I’ve noticed; more and more people accept the fact that not having a partner is not the end of the world. I went to the cinema today and I saw so many girls hanging out with their friends and just being FINE about not having someone to stuck their tongue down their throats – yeah, sadly, that’s another thing that I saw. Somehow heated-public-making out is not my style. Anyways, a lot of people have realized that even if they don’t have a Valentine, they can be their own Valentine. Or basically, anyone can be their Valentine, they just have to make sure to let them know first. Let it be your best friend, friend, dog, etc… On the other hand, you don’t even have to have one if you don’t want to.
The most important thing is to remember that it doesn’t matter whether or not you have a Valentine, as long as you’re okay with it.
And also, it’s okay to feel a bit lonely from looking at all the couples, just know that you’re fricking fabulous.
Buy yourself a meal and eat it like the Queen you are.
And don’t forget to love yourself.
Lots of love,
